One of England's fastest bowlers was taking a quiet stroll in a little village when he came upon a game of cricket. This being in the age before TV, cricketers were not always recognised by face.
The visiting team was one player short and invited the great man not knowing who he was. The home team was batting first. Soon it became evident that the umpires were more than slightly in favour of the batsmen, when several appeals for catches behing the wicket and leg-before were turned down.
The visiting captain, in desperation, and having used all his bowlers turned to our friend. The Test cricketer, Harold Larwood, marked out a short run-up and came in and bowled his first delivery. The batsman was plumb in front and was about to move.
"Howzzaat!" cried the visitors. But the umpire just shook his head in denial.
Lol, a little miffed, came in again, and there was a loud noise to be heard as the batsman nicked to the keeper. But, once more...
It was 3. 30 pm on the very last day of the ongoing test
match when there was an urgent call for INFOSYS and it was from no
other than the SRI LANKA CRICKET BOARD.
I picked up the receiver: "Hello? This is INFOSYS ".
Frantically came a voice "This is the Secretary of Board of Cricket
Control of Sri Lanka. We have got a serious problem."
" What's it? " asked I. There came the reply:
" Our scoreboard, though electronic, is a bit old one. It can show

After that, Lanka will be scoring from zero again, as it will look!!"
I immediately met my bosses and an urgent meetting was
called. After it was over, it was clear that INFOSYS cannot give the
solution within one hour as per their request.
"So", I told him, " Please tell De Silva to get out and Lanka to
finish their more...

Ganguly to Ramesh "I am not comfortable with Akhtar`s pace. So I
will attack Akram and u take care of Akhtar."
After 4 overs(with hardly any runs on the board),
Ramesh to Ganguly "These guys are bowling very fast. We will see
them off and then attack Mahmood and Saqlain."
After 13 overs(when Azhar Mahmood and Saqlain were bowling),
Ganguly to Dravid "I don`t think we can score off these guys as
well. We will wait for Arshad Khan and Shahid Afridi. Surely we can easily
attack them. After all, Shahid Afridi is a part-time bowler."
After Afridi bowled some overs,
Dravid to Robin Singh "Don`t worry, Robin. I heard that England
bowlers are easier to score off. We will play out 50 overs and attack in the
next match."
At the end of the match,
Joshi to Mongia "Why didn`t u try to force the more...
