"Forest Gump Arrives in Heaven" joke
Forest Gump dies and goes to Heaven where St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates. However, the gates are closed so Forest approaches the gateskeeper.
"Forest, it's good to see you," St. Peter says. "We've heard a great deal about you. I must advise you that the place is filling up very quickly, so we are administering an entrance exam for everyone. You must pass the test in order to enter."
"It shore is good to be here, St. Peter," Forest replies. "I've been looking forward to this. Nobody ever told me about entrance exams though. Sure do hope the test ain't too hard. Life was a big enough test as it was."
"I know it was, Forest," says St. Peter, "but the test I have for you is only three questions. Here is the first: What days of the week begin with the letter 'T'? Second, how many seconds are there in a year? Third, what is God's first name?"
Forest goes away to think the questions over. When he returns the next day, he goes up to St. Peter to try to answer the questions. St. Peter waves him up and asks, "Now that you have had a chance to think the questions over, tell me your answers."
"Well," Forest says, "the first one is easy. That would be Today and Tomorrow."
St. Peter exclaims, "Forest! That's not quite what I was thinking, but you do have a point and since I didn't specify, I shall give you credit for your answer."
"What about the next one," St. Peter continues, "how many seconds in a year?"
"Golly gee, that one's harder," Forest replies, "but I thunk and thunk about it and I guess the only answer can be twelve."
St. Peter is quite astounded and says, "Twelve! Forest, how could you come up with twelve seconds in a year?"
"Well, shucks, there gotta be twelve," answers Forest. "January second, February second, March second... "
"Ok, Forest, I see where you're going with it," interrupts St. Peter. Though it's not quite what I had in mind, I do see your point, so I shall give you credit for that answer as well."
"Let's continue with the third and final question," St. Peter says. "Can you tell me God's first name?"
"Well, heck," Forest says, scuffing his feet, "shore I know God's first name. Everybody knows it's Howard."
"Howard?" asks St. Peter. "What would make you think it's Howard?"
"It's in the prayer," Forest explains.
"What prayer?" asks St. Peter.
"Well, the Lord's Prayer," Forest responds. "Our Father, who art in Heaven, Howard be thy name... "
